Bungie has announced that it will be ending its live service MMO Destiny 2, with a final major update for the game planned next month.

In a blog post, they announced that Destiny 2 would still be playable (just like Destiny 1), though it would not be getting any more new content.

The bittersweet celebration of the MMO kicks off on June 9th with the Moment of Triumph update, available to all players.

Bungie has said that the studio has begun "incubating their next game", though there's been no hint as to what's next for the original studio behind Halo.

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier has said Destiny 3 is not in any kind of active development, and staff within the studios are being moved to Marathon as the extraction shooter seeks to find its playerbase.

This year's Moment of Triumph will feature a large set of in-game challenges, allowing players to unlock free cosmetics, weapon engrams and more.

In addition, the update will also feature new content, such as story beats to leave characters in a good spot given the game's lack of new updates after.

It will also feature a new Pantheon with bosses galore to fight, as well as buffs to raid gear and weekly featured raids and dungeons.

Classes are also getting touched too, with new Aspects for Solar Hunter, Void Warlock and Solar Titan and new ability interactions.
