Cygames has officially revealed a huge wave of new information for its upcoming action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink Endless Ragnarok. Alongside confirmation that the game will launch on July 9, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam, Cygames also released the second trailer, titled “Strength & Darkness.”
The new trailer offers the first in-depth look at two major additions to the expansion: the brand-new Summon System and an entirely new solo-focused mode called The Conflux.
New Playable Characters Revealed, Roster Expanded to 29 Characters
The latest trailer officially introduces two brand-new playable characters: Fraux and Fediel.
Fraux is a skydweller who formed a pact with The Devil, one of the Arcarum primal beasts seeking to reshape the world order. Gentle, compassionate, and highly intelligent, she carries an elegant yet deeply mysterious aura despite her warm personality.

Fediel, meanwhile, represents the “Black” among the Six Dragons. Existing beyond the laws of the natural world, Fediel governs darkness itself and influences the very foundations of reality and existence.

The trailer also showcases the appearance of the major antagonist The World, another Arcarum primal beast connected to the ambition of reshaping the world. Originally created by the Astrals, The World eventually evolved beyond its intended purpose, developing self-awareness and the ability to act according to its own will.

With six additional playable characters added in Endless Ragnarok, the total roster now reaches 29 playable characters. Cygames emphasized that each character will continue to feature highly distinct combat styles, ensuring that switching characters dramatically changes gameplay rhythm and mechanics.
New “Summon” System Lets Players Directly Control Primal Beasts
One of the biggest new gameplay features introduced in Endless Ragnarok is the long-awaited Summon System.
Primal beasts have always been iconic within the Granblue Fantasy universe, but this time players won’t simply watch cinematic summon animations, they’ll be able to directly control certain summoned entities during battle.
By equipping Summon Stones, players gain access to various passive effects and combat abilities. Activating a summon allows temporary direct control over the summoned being, enabling devastating attacks and unique special abilities.
Different summon stones influence gameplay styles differently, while also synergizing with character builds and equipment loadouts. Some high-tier summons even feature combat depth comparable to fully playable characters.

The trailer specifically highlighted two major summon entities:
Lucilius, known as the progenitor of primal beasts, Lucilius is an Astral researcher blessed with overwhelming intelligence and god-defying ambition. After transplanting his consciousness into Lucifer, his ultimate primal beast creation, he obtained immense destructive power.

Rolan, a gentlemanly fixer from the western skies who encounters the protagonist’s party by chance before eventually joining their journey.

The expansion also introduces a new mechanic called ASCEND CHAIN.
During Link Time, Lyria will begin preparing a summon. If the party successfully chains Skybound Arts together, it triggers a massive summon follow-up attack where primal beasts unleash overwhelming firepower across the battlefield. Compared to the original Relink, the spectacle is significantly more explosive and feels far closer to large-scale MMO-style raid encounters.

However, the Summon System will not be immediately available. Players must first complete the original Granblue Fantasy: Relink main story and unlock the high-difficulty CHAOS content within Endless Ragnarok before gaining access to summons.

New Solo Mode “The Conflux” Combines Roguelike Elements and Character Progression
The other major feature introduced in the latest reveal is the new solo-exclusive mode known as The Conflux.
Unlike the standard story or quest structure, The Conflux adopts a roguelike-style progression system. Players enter the mysterious dimension through strange gateways hidden within Seedhollow or the Tredame Sanctum, venturing deeper into an ever-changing alternate world.
After clearing each area, players choose which gate and route to take next. Before proceeding, they’ll also select temporary power-ups that remain active throughout the current run, creating entirely new build possibilities and combat strategies.

At the deepest layers of The Conflux, players will encounter powerful bosses and earn large quantities of weapon upgrade materials and sigil enhancement resources. Given the game’s massive playable roster, the mode appears especially appealing for players who enjoy solo grinding, character experimentation, and long-term progression.

The Conflux features procedurally generated stages, randomized objectives, and branching paths. Every run changes enemy layouts, events, and progression routes, ensuring each expedition feels different. Some areas contain special battle conditions, rare enemies, or treasure-only bonus rooms filled with rewards.
Throughout exploration, players can also obtain Conflux-exclusive buffs and passive enhancements. As runs progress deeper, the party grows increasingly powerful, reinforcing the satisfying sense of roguelike escalation. Players can additionally earn Resonance Points and Conflux Points to permanently unlock helpful upgrades for future runs, including starting buffs and progression advantages.

The Conflux becomes available during Chapter 6 of the main story. Deeper layers and more valuable rewards gradually unlock as players continue progressing through the expansion’s narrative.
From everything shown so far, The Conflux appears positioned as Relink’s major new endgame activity, particularly for players who enjoy solo farming, optimizing builds, and endlessly strengthening their favorite characters.

Between the addition of direct summon combat, the roguelike-inspired Conflux mode, expanded character variety, and new high-difficulty challenges, it’s clear that Cygames is aiming to evolve Granblue Fantasy: Relink into a far larger and more replayable long-term action RPG experience.
For players who already exhausted the original game’s endgame content, both The Conflux and the Summon System could easily become the expansion’s most exciting new features.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Endless Ragnarok launches on July 9, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam. Pre-orders are now open across all platforms.
Players who purchase either Endless Ragnarok or the Endless Ragnarok Upgrade Pack will also receive bonus in-game items for Granblue Fantasy. Additional details regarding these bonuses will be announced at a later date.
