COVER Corporation CEO Motoaki "YAGOO" Tanigo says they're open to the idea of Hololive Graduation not being the career end-all, opening the gate to continued collaboration with former talents.

During a Q&A at the recent shareholders meeting for the company, the CEO answered a question about graduated talents possibly returning to the company.

"It is difficult to give a blanket answer of “yes” or “no,” but we do not necessarily prohibit it", he said.

"We take into consideration the feelings of fans who saw the graduate off, as well as the circumstances at the time of graduation, the surrounding environment, and activities after graduation. If such a case arises, we will make a decision on a case-by-case basis".

The State Of Hololive Graduation

While Hololive graduation has typically been seen as the ultimate end of a Vtuber's persona, COVER has always seemed interested in keeping that door open- as of last year they'd introduced the "Hololive affiliate" status, indicating talents who could still appear in events after leaving.

This includes talents like Amelia Watson and Sakamata Chloe, both of whom featured in 3D lives even after their departure.

That being said, it should be worth noting that the phrase used in the question specifically targets "Graduate" members- ones who did not previously agree to affiliate status.

The question comes following a particularly turbulent time for the company- the past year has seen a large exodus of talent, with multiple members of both the English and Japanese branches leaving.

While talents typically invoke "disagreements with management" as their reason for leaving, Tanigo himself has previously said the phrase was not as loaded as it sounds- instead being more of a cover-all phrase to describe an amicable parting.
