Indie Jam 2026 Pulls In 2500 Visitors Over Two-Day Event

Grassroots indie gaming event Indie Jam 2026 kicked off on April 4th and 5th, with the event reportedly drawing in approximately 2,500 visitors.

Grassroots indie gaming event Indie Jam 2026 kicked off on April 4th and 5th, with the event reportedly drawing in approximately 2,500 visitors. 

In a statement, organizers The Magic Rain said Indie Jam 2026 saw 15% of its visitors made up of international attendees from over 28 countries to its venue of Management and Science University, Shah Alam.

The attendance marks a new high for the indie game showcase. 

Similarly, it also featured over 60 games and demos from 8 countries, another high for the organizers.

These games comprised of entries from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Brunei,

In addition to industry talks and game demos, the event also featured various initiatives to help attendees find jobs, such as the Women in Games Asia Mentor Match and Digital Blacksmith School Art Portfolio Review.

These allowed guests to sign up to meet industry experts, as well as have their own applications critiqued when looking for industry jobs.

The event also featured a Jobs and Internship matching ,where they could talk to key industry figures and try to get their own foot in the door.

It also played host to the inaugural Indie Jam Pitch Competition, which saw games exhibited at the show entered into the running to win a sponsored booth at gamescom asia X Thailand Game Show 2026- a prize won by Indonesian studio Nekogi Studios.

10 more teams were also nominated as runners-up, winning conference passes to the same event.
