The action-adventure game Okami was launched in 2006 and is still loved by gamers all over the world. At "The Game Awards 2024" held today, we announced that the "Okami sequel" project is in development!
Hideki Kamiya, director of the original Okami, will be the director of this project, which is being co-developed between studios that include various staff members of the original Okami: M-TWO Inc., Machine Head Works Inc., and CLOVERS Inc. – which Hideki Kamiya is a member of.
Okami is a game critically acclaimed for its unique world, heartwarming story, and exciting adventures. Now, a new adventure in the same vein as Okami has been set in motion.

Born in 1970 in Matsumoto (Nagano prefecture), Japan. Director of Resident Evil 2 (1998), Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101.
As executive director, he was responsible for elements such as supervision, initial planning and the story of Bayonetta 2, Bayonetta 3, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, and Sol Cresta.
After working for Capcom, Clover Studios, and PlatinumGames, he joined CLOVERS Inc. as studio head and chief game designer in October 2024. He is currently working as director of the Okami sequel.
