If you've played either of the betas for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, you might be wondering: what do the team names do?

While the betas had the names Tokon Fighters and Tokon Warriors determined by player 1 and player 2 positions,. the build available at Arc World Tour Finals 2025 has shown us what the feature is actually for- and its role in constructing teams.

The team names in the current build of the game reflect your team- having tried out the build, it seems like the first half of the names are determined by the point character.

For example, in two teams with Magik as the point character, both teams had the first word Hellbound- though the second word changed between them.

Meanwhile, the second word seems to be less direct in its influence, with names like Hellbound Mages and Hellbound Shapeshifters seeming like they refer to common traits between characters, rather than a trait of one particular character.

Of course, these team names will also reflect pre-built teams.

Having Storm, Wolverine, Magik and Danger will trigger the "Unbreakable X-Men" team, regardless of the point character.

Ultimately, these names don't have any gameplay effect- though they will show up when you use the Tokon Assemble ability
