Pokemon Champions Release Date Announced

The Pokemon Company has announced the release date for Pokemon Champions, the mobile compatible competitive Pokemon spinoff. 

Revealed during today's Pokemon Day livestream, Pokemon Champions will release in April 2026 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with a mobile version coming later in the year. 

Players who download the game will receive Dragonite and its mega stone as an "early download bonus", while players who transfer in Delphox, Chesnaught or Greninja will also receive their respective mega stones when they are carried over into the main game. 

Pokemon Champions Gameplay

For those not in the loop, Pokemon Champions is a competitive battling focused spinoff of the Pokemon games, allowing you to match up and fight players from your phone or Nintendo Switch devices. 

While Pokemon can be obtained natively in the game, they can also be transferred over via Pokemon Home, which means Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet, Legends ZA as well as the recently announced FireRed and LeafGreen re-releases can all be brought over to Pokemon Champions.
