Star Fox Remake Announced For Nintendo Switch 2

In a surprise that wasn't so surprising , Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Switch 2 remake of the original Star Fox.

Unveiled in a Star Fox direct, they showed off the first look at gameplay for the new title, which features the same stage layouts as the original with updated visuals as well as new designs for Fox McCloud and the rest of Star Fox team. 

The game is currently set to release on June 25th 2026 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, and features multiplayer as well as mouse controls.

As the fifth remake of the original Star Fox, the Nintendo Switch 2 title features improved visuals, including slightly more realistic designs for the anthropomorphic animals of team Star Fox. 

The game is getting a more cinematic approach, with mission briefings and more cutscenes as you fly your Arwing through a series of missions, shooting targets and discovering new routes to better clear missions. 

It even features special tasks you can do in a mission, which can change the paths you ultimately take through the game. 

As for its previously mentioned multiplayer mode, players can queue up or party up for 4v4 dogfights online, with the game supporting GameShare to share the game with up to four friends to play together.
