Vshojo, the agency that manages multiple Vtubers like Kson, Ironmouse and Henya The Genius has seemingly imploded, as a majority of the agency's talent quit overnight.

This follows Ironmouse's high-profile departure, where she revealed that not only had she not been paid money she was owed, but that the company had also run off with around 500,000 USD in donations to the Immune Deficiency Fund.

Following this accusation, Kson, one of the members of the company's Japanese branch, held a Q&A livestream with VShojo Japan CEO Koshi Makino, where he said that the branch was "doing well", despite Kson herself having not been paid since September 2024.

A flabbergasted Kson responded by resigning on the spot, saying that she had initially planned to do so at the end of the month.

"Wait, so you knew that the [Japanese] talents had not been paid yet? That's not 'doing good' then", she said.

The Exodus From Vshojo

Since then, multiple other talents at the agency have also publicly announced their resignation- Henya The Genius has also left the agency, citing similar issues of not being paid.

Ironically, Vshojo's most unique clause- that Vtuber personas are owned by the talents themselves- has actually made the split much easier as talents more clearly communicate to their fanbase.

Voice actress and singer AmaLee, for example, had no fear about going back to the indie life.

"Nothing about my content will change, as I was indie for 18 years before signing with VShojo, and I retain my IP", she says in a tweet announcing her own departure.

Even founding member Projekt Melody has also announced her departure:

"Yes, i'm leaving VShojo. I was an OG talent, put my everything into this comp. But I'm beyond devastated at what happened. & I never in a million years thought I'd be saying these words", she says.

It should be noted that the VShojo brand page on Twitter no longer has any affiliates, implying the very real possibility that many more talents have quit without announcing it.

Nmia Gaming has contacted Vshojo for comment, and will update this space if they respond.
