Furry shooter Wild Assault is doing pretty well for itself- the game is currently going through its Open Beta, netting just under 1500 concurrent players since the beta started.

According to SteamDB, the game hit a peak of 1461 players- just about half of the PC numbers for PlayStation's Concord which had a beta weeks earlier.
Given the competitiveness of the Hero Shooter space with Marvel Rivals and Concord both gunning to fill the space of Overwatch 2, 1400 players isn't a terrible first showing for a game- especially when it has a unique premise like this.
Wild Assault Gameplay
The first thing you might notice about Wild Assault is the, well, furry characters- the game is a hero shooter featuring anthropomorphized animals as various characters, ranging from foxes to wolves to bears and even skunks.
Characters have the usual roster of hero shooter abilities as well as more uniquely animalistic abilities, like the Skunk character throwing noxious bombs or a wolf man with a howl attack.

The third person shooter is developed by Combat Cat Studio, who said they based characters roles and abilities based on their hierarchy in the animal kingdom.
For extra flavor, it even has the most unique running animation in a hero shooter- characters will straight-up get on all fours when it's time to break into a sprint.
Wild Assault currently has no release date just yet, though the game has just concluded its Open Beta, with promises of a development roadmap coming soon.
